Activities of OAO AVTOROS on expanding its business, identifying and researching new trends, investment in innovative technologies resulted in developing a new vehicle.
The project focused on examining and analysing situation in motor industry for cross-country conditions. Situation analysis showed that off-road equipment currently manufactured in Russia features a number of designer and operational drawbacks: existing small manufacturers were keen on developing various proprietary designs while being oriented towards using components for cars serially produced in Russia.
In 2005 a new project under the title Project Z on developing and manufacturing a serial all-terrain vehicle started.
The main concept of Project Z is developing a new unique all-terrain vehicle that combines latest Russian technologies and research development.
The goal of Project Z is resolving transportation problems in regions that lack road networks.
A range of potential Project Z ATVs buyers is quite wide. The reason is multipurpose use of offered equipment. Among target audience of Project Z are oil and gas companies, geological organizations, military and public entities, Ministry of Emergency Situations and private customers.
Among priorities of Project Z is serial production of passenger, dual-purpose and load-carrying ATV variants. A modular design and use of developed uniform assemblies allows production of all-terrain vehicle with 4х4, 6х6 and 8х8 wheel arrangements.
This equipment is specifically designed for operation on soils with low bearing capacity, crossing marshlands, water obstacles in extreme conditions of any type.
The ATV manufacturing facility is Experimental Transport Plant (ZET) located in Novozavidovsky settlement in Tver Region of Russia.
